“[Avenged Sevenfold] are an interesting band. When we were about to tour with them last year, we weren’t sure we’d get along at all. I mean, have you seen the size of those dudes? We thought it was going to be a culture clash, but then we ended up being great friends. What I love about them is they really believe in what they’re doing; they truly believe they are the greatest rock band in the world. I respect that.” - Gerard

Granted, in high school I wouldn’t go around wearing a ‘Dookie’ t-shirt, but I still played the shit out of that record, and I would never, ever not support [Green Day] just because somebody next to me likes them… I think the fact that people would reject a band for being popular is absurd. The lines get blurred because, unfortunately, a lot of very popular bands aren’t necessarily the best bands in the world, and aren’t necessarily the most genuine acts in the world.

If I was president for the day, I would probably really repair relationships with the rest of the world! When you’re an extremely large, influential and powerful country, surely you have a responsibility to the rest of the world to not only set an example, but to treat people good and to help where it’s needed. I’m also one of those people who thinks you should help your own country too, like homelessness.

“Mikey is my co-anchor. Mikey is what keeps me going in a lot of ways… He’s so talented and yet shy and introverted, he really doesn’t know how talented he really is. He’s like everybody’s kid brother on tour.” - Gerard

Gerard: I fucking HATE nu-metal. Fucking haaate it, dude. I fucking hate Korn, I fucking hate Limp Bizkit... I don't give a shit what YOU like, I don't give a SHIT what you like... You're here tonight because you like us, and because we hate nu-metal, that's why we're here.

Gerard: [introducing Teenagers] THIS SONG'S ABOUT HATING NU-METAL!

[the following night in Dortmund]

Gerard: I think I pissed a lot of people off dissing nu-metal last night. You guys can like nu-metal, I’m okay with that. I mean, I still have a problem with it, but you can like it... [chuckles awkwardly]

Frank: Well, I still have a problem with it.

Gerard: YEEEEEEEAAAH!

“Me and Frankie got pulled over last night. Well, it’s more like we got held up by four undercover SUV special agent police. And they asked me TWICE if I was vampire. I’m not even fucking kidding. That guy doesn’t even know how he made my year. And then they let us go, they said just drive a little slower. Then, they go “are you guys Satan worshippers?!” We said “no dude.” And don’t ever call a cop dude ‘cause they don’t like it.”

Do you have a link to the video where the interviewer calls Mikey the new guy? Thanks! :-)

Interviewer: Who would you least like to be in the band?

Frank: Gerard. I mean... [Turns to Gerard] I just feel bad. Like, you gotta work so - [Turns to Interviewer] Everybody wants to talk to him. I think that's the worst part.

Gerard: I always have a wingman though.

Interviewer: I always thought the coolest job would be frontman.

Gerard: It's the coolest job when you're onstage, for sure. I don't have to worry about an instrument or anything.

Frank: You gotta talk...

Gerard: Well, I like hearing myself talk.
